Over the years, I kept an active column for El Paso Herald Post online (now defunct) where I gave my perspective on topics from the borderland region and politics.
A journalist and freelance writer, often sharing my experiences as a Mexican, Xicana, a border girl, a Texan / Tejana, a Latina in politics…an everyday political guerrera.
In addition, I love traveling throughout Texas, finding those interesting stories that are hidden in everyday conversation. I have also had my writings published in national publications and other digital cross-media platforms.
My work represents a voice from the border, able to show the side of the conversation that is often lacking in mainstream media. I am a content creator, a storyteller. I write on a range on topics from: people, pop culture, politics or just general every day Mexican Texas life; proudly walking through the world with my desert nopal glasses on.
I’ve dedicated the last decade to creating content that highlights and celebrates Latina/o/x stories from across the country and especially my home state, Texas.
In 2019, I was honored to be selected to participate — as part of a group of writers from across the nation — in Yale School of Journalism’s ‘Thread’ storytellers in media workshop.
